Kizz Daniel, Nigerian Singer has debunked reports that there is no feud between himself and Mavins records singer Reekado Banks by releasing a press statement. The press statement was made by his Public Relations Officer, Anusiobi Franklin after Harrysong’s management claimed in a report that the singer refused shooting the video of their collaboration “Selense” because of his beef with Reekado Banks. The Flyboy representative claimed in the statement available online that Harrysong did not inform Daniel prior to the collaboration that Reekado Banks was in the song. Five people were burnt to death today after a small passenger aircraft crashed in southern Democratic Republic of Congo near the border with Angola. The piston-engined Antonov 2, operated by local airline Air Kasai, burst into flames, just after takeoff from Kamako for a flight to Tshikapa, 150 kilometres (93 miles) away. “The plane crashed into the bush three kilometres (two miles) from Kamako. Only two people got out, the pilot and a passenger. They are unable to talk. We already know that five people have died. We will know the final toll when the company provides us with the passenger list” said Anacletus Muswa Kapinga Safia, the deputy territorial administrator. The crash is the second in a month in DR Congo’s sprawling Kasai province. Last month, a light plane chartered by the World Food Programme (WFP) had an accident on takeoff at Kamonia, leaving several people injured.

Three out of four passengers were rescued after their car was swept away by a flood in Anambra state.  The Anambra police command received a distress call on Wednesday, July 25, that a Peugeot 504 Saloon Car with four occupants was carried away by a flood following a heavy downpour along Nise road by city landmark hotel in Amawbia. Following the report, Police patrol team attached to Central Police Station Awka responded to the scene, and with help from members of the community, three male occupants of the vehicle were rescued alive. Sadly, the fourth occupant, a young girl of about 13 was said to have died. The identities of the three surviving victims have been revealed. They are Elder Ejike Anadebe (Driver), Ogu Ebuka, and Emmanuel Samuel. They are all members of Zion pillar church, Adabebe in Amawbia, Awka. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru on Wednesday, July 25, apprehended a Nigerian national with 155.5 grams of cocaine which was being transported from Mumbai to the city. The accused identified as Ozy Chukwudu, 30, was intercepted by the NCB sleuths when he disembarked from a sleeper bus from Mumbai to Bengaluru. With specific information of cocaine smuggling, the NCB team was waiting for his arrival from Mumbai. Chukwudu, who did not have a passport and other documents, was carrying a polythene bag with 11 capsules which contained cocaine. The drug was brought to Mumbai by an unidentified man hiding it in his stomach and was later handed over to Chukwudu to be brought to Bengaluru. A Chinese woman Li Dandan, was on Thursday, July 26, found not guilty of drug trafficking by Hong Kong Court after three years of uncertainty. Hong Kong prosecutors said the single mother, now 33, had trafficked 1,934 grams of methamphetamine, a drug more commonly known as Ice, worth HK$580,000 (US$73,900). On November 7, 2015, Li was intercepted at Hong Kong International Airport while en route to Malaysia to help deliver clothing samples for her Nigerian boyfriend identified as IK, who said he would set up business in her home province of Guangdong. The drugs were found stored in a hidden compartment sewn into the linings of her backpack. However, the Guangzhou native claimed she had been conned to make deliveries for her Nigerian boyfriend, whom she had trusted. “I dated this Nigerian man because he did not smoke or drink.   An armed robber was set ablaze today after himself after his accomplice, who managed to escape, shot a lady dead outside a commercial bank at the Suru-Alaba area in Lagos. According to an eyewitness who sent in the photos, two men tried to rob the deceased lady as she stepped out of the bank and shot her in the head before trying to steal her money. An officer of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, in Anambra has been killed in error after some policemen mistook him for a kidnapper and opened fire on him. Punch reports that the policemen, who shot and killed the SARS operative in error were guarding a private residence in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The SARS operative was reported to have accompanied one of his colleagues to effect an arrest at about 4.30 am in the neighborhood when the sad occurrence happened. A school teacher allegedly ordered student to attack and beat a journalist covering a school fire break out . According to reports, the victim identified as William Mutyaba of Bukedde TV was beaten on Monday 23 July, 2018 at about 9pm when he was covering a fire that had gutted one of the school dormitories at St. Augustine’ College Kayunga in Wakiso district, Uganda. Mutyaba told HRNJ-Uganda that the teacher, a one Akena ordered the students to kill him, “you students come beat and kill this man, he is the Bukedde journalist, he even covered the fire last time, you beat him, kill him”, he said. Mutyaba says as he tried to run away with his camera, the security guard locked the gate, so the students beat him up in an attack that lasted about an hour. As many as 15 Nigerian returnees who were evacuated from the nation of Libya, have arrived with pregnancies. Apparently, there is no end in sight yet to the evacuation of stranded Nigerian migrants in Libya as another batch of 162 youths under the Voluntary Returnees Scheme facilitated by the European Union / International Organization for Migration (IOM) arrived Nigeria in the late hours of Thursday. According to a Daily Trust report, the aircraft with registration number 5A-DMG arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) at 9:56 pm with 162 returnees. Three of the returnees arrived with minor medical cases. It was however a harvest of pregnancies as 15 of the returnees arrived heavily pregnant. Abidoun James, the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Freedom International City parish, Akure in Ondo State, has been arrested for fraud. James was arrested on Thursday by the men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) after defrauding Mrs. Folasade Olukunini and some other members of his Church. Awili Pedro, the Commandant of the NSCDC in Ondo State, confirmed the arrest of the self-styled prophet to Journalists in Akure. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) today intercepted a container with 14 belts of Nigerian army wears. The military wears were intercepted by the Federal operation unit zone C (F O U) in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital. Investigations have reportedly begun into the matter. Considering the security challenge in the country, the Customs officials said the plain military uniforms and the camouflage could be used to wreak havoc in any part of the country as they noted that terrorists and other criminals now dress like soldiers. Last year, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) intercepted 1,398 rolls of plain military uniforms and camouflage at the Lagos port. The items were intercepted at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT), Port Express, Apapa, by its Area Comptroller, Mrs. Lami S. A. Wushishi. Mrs. Wushishi, while briefing reporters, said the items were illegally shipped into the country from China. Two suspects, she added, were arrested in connection with the prohibited items.

It has been reported that a truck driver and his assistant are currently on the run after they ‘disappeared’ from sight when their vehicle crushed a pregnant woman to death along the Jabi/Airport Road, Abuja. According to Punch Metro, it was learnt that an unnamed man was also killed in the accident which occurred on Thursday evening. Bystanders told Punch Metro that the deceased persons were attempting to board a taxi on the side of the road when the truck rammed into them and dragged them into the gutter. An eyewitness, Musa Abdullahi, told Punch Metro that the truck, which was conveying granite, lost control before crushing its victims. He said, “The accident occurred around 4pm. The truck driving towards the airport road lost control. A heartless grandmother has ended the life of her two-year-old granddaughter by throwing her inside a well in Niger state. The Police in Niger state on Thursday arrested A 55-year-old grandmother Aisha Ibrahim, for allegedly killing her two-year-old granddaughter at Karaya Fulani Camp in Rafi Local Government Area of the state, according to NewTelegraph. It was gathered that the woman was trailed and arrested by police detectives attached to Kagara Division while trying to escape to an unknown destination. Findings have it that she tied her grand child with rope and threw her inside a well in their compound so as to humiliate the mother of the child.
